Drinking Water Update 3/31/2025
PILOT testing for iron and manganese removal at Wells 1 & 2 has been completed and submitted to Wisconsin DNR for approval. Once approved, the next step is preliminary design services. The preliminary design services will provide several project alternatives and cost estimates for each. This process will take approximately 3 to 4 months. Once the Village has selected an alternative, final design work will be needed with approval from both Wisconsin DNR and Wisconsin Public Service Commission. The project will be bid in late 2025 or early 2026 with a 26-27 construction period. Wells #1 and #2 will continue to be used minimally to ensure they are in working order should they be needed at full capacity in the event of an emergency. The Village Public Works Department continues to test manganese levels Village wide 3 times each week and those results continue to be below the EPA standard of 300 parts per billion.
The fill station is accessible Monday through Friday 8-4:30 via the main Village Office door.
Water test kits are available at the Village Office or Village Shop. These kits are sent to Commercial Testing Labs and for $14 can test the levels of manganese in your drinking water.
